i am a three-year blackberry user and i find Windows Mobile very inconvenient with too many menus and very few "smart" and consistent keboard shortcuts (that aren't dependent on the menus). also - much more difficult to type on.

I own both a BlackBerry 8703 and a Motorola Q. While the Motorola Q offers a very compact form factor, unfortunately, it doesn't seem to have that polish and ease of use that is integral to the BlackBerry. Microsoft and Motorola should spend more time studying the Palm Treo OS, for its ease of use and general usability and try to incorporate some of these concepts in a new update for Windows Mobile 5.0. Also, why isn't a text/notepad application bundled with the Motorola Q since it sports a large Querty keyboard? This is functionality that is standard with a Palm Treo 650/680/700P/700W.

uhm, every blackberry I've ever had is complete garbage. They crash, they have no functionality, you have to pay for your e-mai(enterprise b.s)l, the application support is minimal.. the Q is much better in almost every way.
