Q/Verizon: I don't use the wireless sync by Verizon; I use intellisync.
All my contacts are in my phone twice - is there a way to delete one set
without doing a hard reset?
If I do a hard reset, will I have to download the software again for my
intellisync function? And, what else will I lose when It resets.
ALSO: When calling an auto attendant VM and trying to enter letters of
a name from the numeric keypad, is there a way to get the Q to go to phone
function with the numbers? so you can look up someone in a company directory?

For the double contact entries, I'd recommend downloading Yahoo Go version 2.0 . But you must download version 2.0 because 3.0 doesn't have the phonebook autosync. You would need a yahoo mail account also(free). Once you've installed the program, in the options, there should be a feature called address book sync, run that. Once it's done, on a computer log into your yahoo account, and click Contacts, you should see what your phonebook had, in doubles. Now click Options, and there should be an option called "Clean Up Duplicates". Run that, once it's done and everything on the yahoo side is good, run the Yahoo Go program on the Q again and sync the address book again. Once it's done, your Q's contact's shouldn't be in doubles anymore. Hope that helps!

You should be able to play anything that does not make a network call. Most of the games from Concrete Software are this way, you can see them at http://www.concretesoftware.com/windowsmobile/index.shtml

- UNO (though there is a multiplayer version in the works)
- Aces Texas Hold'em
- UNO Free Fall
- Aces Blackjack

I had been getting low memory messages and could not send text messages. Now wj=hen i powered up it shut down a few days later it charged but stays frozen on alarm reminder. There is file missing error now.
Is there a way to reset the whole telephone or delete so that I can free up memory? I cannot afford a new telephone I would appreciate any help or advise anyone may have.

I'd like to delete e-mail messages from the Q but not have them deleted from Outlook when it syncs. Is there a way to set it up this way? I still want new messages to sync.

HELP! I had a Motorola and I could easily get to Axxcess shop and buy ringtones for less then $10.00 from Sony Music Box. How do I buy ringtones for my MotoQ? My dealer says go to Axxcess shop but when I do it only gives me an option to buy software, which is expensive. I don't want to go to an indpendent and pay a membership. Thans question #1
Question #2- I tried downloading a ringtone I made off iTunes. It would transfer the entire song but not my ringtone- said it was corrupt? any ideas anyone!

could someone tell me which phone is the best choice and most features between the motorola q and the ppc 6700 i've had no problems with this q and its light weight and thin
and it is a real cool phone although i have not yet tried the ppc 6700 any suggestions would be greatly apprecieted

If your Q is completely frozen and wont even power off, just remove the battery for a moment and all will be well again.

I saw someone posted a message about google maps.
I was having trouble following some threads in other sites about the gps and Gmaps. I went to google and simply downloaded the google mobile maps and it works great. As soon as it was installed i went to MENU and use GPS and there it was . The whole process took about 10 mins.

Yes it works fine. It gives a message that my phone was not compatible at first, but after I select GPS, then it worked OK
It simply jumps you back to where you are at the moment. Mine is very close 100 yds, and I live way out in the country.
I use Sprint.

Hello, I just took over as a systems admin for a small company, and I have two guys that are trying to sync their Sprint Motorola Q phones with Outlook. I have been unable to set them up. On the first phone, I cleared out all email accounts, connected the phone to the laptop via USB, entered all the credentials, but it's constantly telling me that the server could not be reached. I checked the server, and everything is running fine, but no matter how many times I clear the settings and re-enter the info, I get the same results. I have never worked with these phones before, could anyone point me in the right direction?

has anyone been able to bring the gps data to their laptop or send it to any other applications? i have mapping software on my laptop and would like to use the data acquired by the Q. i have connected the Q to the laptop using active sync.

I added "Windows Live" to the email clients and now I can't get rid of the "hotmail" entry. The hotmail link is dead but it won't stop displaying as one of the message options; Anyone know how to get rid of that?

Something went wrong with my Q and now the speaker's are nearly inaudible when playing music or movies. The speakerphone works great however and my phone rings loud enough for me to hear across the house. With the limited adjustments in the software, I can't find a way to turn up the volume on the Media player (I've tried the thumbwheel and Media Volume settings to no avail). Has anyone else run into this problem, and/or knows how to fix it???

I got it!!!! This is what I did. Press & hold the jog wheel until EARPIECE VOLUME shows up then roll the jog wheel WHILE STILL PRESSING IT IN! My earpiece volume was set pretty low. Now we will see if it stays that way.

i have a short part of a song as my alert for text messages. however, it's 30 seconds long, so whenever i get a text, i have to hear the entire thing. even as i'm reading it and typing a reply. so my question, well questions, are: how do i silence the alert? is it even possible or do i need to just stick to a 2-3 second alert?
