Filter and sort contacts from home screen
Pressing any Alpha key at the home screen will bring up the contact list...and filter the contacts based on the alpha key you pressed. If the alpha key you hit also happens to be a Numeric key, it pre-dials that digit while filtering the contacts list.

When you start typing alpha characters at the contacts screen, the Q starts filtering based on matching characters in the one field. If you type a space after the first letter, and then continue typing letters, it continues filtering based on matches in a second field AS LONG AS the letter is not on a button that also has a number or * or # on it! However, if the letter you want to filter on is on one of these keys, it is only recognized as the number or symbol, not a letter. Pressing the shift or option button doesn't help. This would be a really useful feature, if not for the limitations noted. Does anyone know how to make this work the way it should?
